Dear San Diego.....Love, Me

I have lived in San Diego since 2003...I opened an acceptance letter to the college of my choice and never looked back. College was an amazing 5 year blur...full of late nights...early morning- low paying jobs...amazing group of friends..parties...beach trips..finding the love of my life....and finally graduation. During my last year of college, my Dad became sick...He was one of my best friends...someone who I literally talked to everyday. He lost a battle with cancer in Sept. 2008. The combination of that and finishing school, not really knowing what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be, was really hard to deal with and it took me a while to get back to really enjoying life for what it is and all it has to offer. Losing someone so close made me truly realize how short life is and to not "sweat the small stuff" just enjoy every moment. The rain cloud I was walking around with finally cleared for brighter days.

I can say that this year of my life has been a good one. Really good. I found the light at the end of the tunnel and my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. :) I landed a job that I am really happy with...happy with my boss...the location...and with the actual job itself. It is challenging and really makes me push myself daily to do my best. With that being said...I feel like I really have grown to "know myself" better than I used to and I have really come to appreciate this city. Here are some of my favorite places in San Diego....

                                                       Hippo Bums ;)
                                                                    So Pretty!
                                                               Sun bathing...
                                                        My favorite :)

Happy hour at the roof of the Marriott....

And last but not least...My favorite place in the entire world...This was also my Dad's favorite place...this is where my <3 is...
Thank you San Diego for helping make the past 7 years of my life one amazing trip. I hope we have many more memories to come....

What City will always hold a special place in your heart?

  1. I'm happy that you're happy =)
I know you had a rough couple of years but with the bad...comes the good. And vice versa. San Diego is really beautiful. It's a great place to live! Maui holds a special place in my heart, and I think you know that. It just has always felt like home to me, a small sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of California. I can't wait to go back, hopefully sometime next year ;)
