A Few of My Favorite Things :)

Happy Thanksgiving Bloggers...This is kind of a random post. I just wanted to share a few items I am loving lately. Hope you all have a lovely Holiday. I will post about my mini vacation to Hollywood/Santa Monica when I get back!

This is one of my fav. necklaces. I bought it from a boutique in San Diego called Franchescas. It goes well with a lot of tops.

This necklace is from Forever 21. I love it! I am actually wearing it tomorrow for Thanksgiving. I think....
We all know what this is by now. I literally have not strayed from using it since I bought it. MAC who?
This has been my "holy grail" perfume for the past few years. I always try out others, but always come back to Miss. Dior Cherie. It is lovely.
I bought this clutch 3? years ago from Banana Republic. It was a little on the expensive side, but I totally LOVE it. Velvet and Crystals. It is timeless. I am pretty confident that I will carry this guy on my wedding day.
I got this top from Nordstrom. Again on the pricey side, but I couldn't resist. I didn't buy it when I first saw it...but thought about it when I got home...The next time I went back to the mall it was still there waiting for me. ;) I love lace and olive green. I wear it with my black skinny pants from Express, jeweled flats and a "leather" jacket from Express. One of my favorite combinations is leather and lace.
This is said "leather" jacket from Express. The lining is a rich purple..not exactly how it appears in this photo..It is a lot less pink than it looks. I just love it with bandage skirts, flowy top, opaque black tights and either balet flats or heels. Adorable with an edge!
This cream lace skirt is from Target. I got it on sale for $5!! I bought it in cream, olive green and black. Once again, I love pairing it with black opaque tights, a black tank and the "leather" jacket or a long cardigan.

He is definitely my favorite "thing".

I'm sure I will wear all of these items this weekend for our vacation. I can't wait to get dolled up!

Happy Turkey Day! :)

Bombshells....and a trip from HELL-0!

Well...in a quick follow up to my last blog, my trip to the mall was a trip to HELL-O! A combination of pouring rain, being hit by some idiot in a moving truck, who then proceeded to "run" onto the freeway before we could pull over to exchange information....RUDE Christmas shoppers and not finding what I went for...I was more than ready to scream "Get me the HELLO outta here!" I was reminded why I only shop during the weekdays and not on a Saturday! Needless to say, I did walk away with a few finds...an off the shoulder black top from Express (same one you have Noelle), black opaque tights (never can have too many) and silver hoop earrings (I used to ALWAYS wear hoop earrings and I kinda missed them)...

Anyways..onto this blog...I just wanted to post a few of my beauty icons...most are pin-ups or modern day bombshells. These are women who inspire me in one way or another. :)

I love the style of the early 60s. Bardot..cute as a button. Love Love Love BIG hair..(but not Jersey style) ;)

Coffee...Pearls...Oversized sunglasses...the hustle and bustle of downtown...Tiffany's ..What more could a girl ask for?!
I can remember wearing huge sunglasses my freshman year of college...this was before they were really in again. So many people made fun of how huge they were...Everything old is new again.;)
I love this picture of Marilyn. She looks less put together than in a lot of her photos, but still just beautiful!
A modern day twist to an old pinup style. The woman can do no wrong. Her hair always has volume galore a la "Bombshell". My kinda gal.
This one has Old Hollywood written all over her.

Who inspires your look?

A Saturday Shopping Trip

I bought a pair of pants from Express a couple weeks ago and have been meaning to return them. They are way too long and just do not look right. I strayed from my usual Editor pant that I wear to work and learned that was a no-no. So back to the mall I go. I'm saving up for a trip to Hollywood next weekend where I can go crazy with the shopping, however...I was browsing the Forever 21 website and saw some adorable items that I really want! I hope they look as cute in person! If I come home with a few items, I will do a blog post with pictures of what I bought. I hope I hope I hope they have these items:
This is too cute! I love Minnie...I love perfume AND I love off the shoulder tops! This is perfect for a casual night out. I would pair it with skinny blank pants, some jeweled ballet flats, pearl earrings, a cocktail ring and my MK watch.

Super Cuteness!
I can't seem to get enough ballet flats. These are perfect for the Holiday season!
 These rings are adorable!

And...a quick "Outfit of the Night". I went out with one of my college girlfriends last night. It was fun!

I need to get a full length mirror, but until then this will have to do. :) I wore black pants from Express, Emerald green tank: Target, Sheer, ruffle jacket: A boutique in La Jolla; Eiffel Tower necklace: Forever 21 and of course the new MK watch :)

What are some more affordable items you gals have been wanting to pick up?

P.S. to Noelle: If they still have the Love earrings, I will pick up a pair for you :)

Santa Baby....Hurry down the Chimney with gifts!

I will be honest...I am not a huge fan of the Holidays. I know...I know...Most people find it crazy when I say this, but it's true. I get stressed, anxious and am always glad when they are o-v-e-r. I know another little "bird" that feels the same way. ;) But, it is always fun to put together a little wish list full of the things I have been lusting and drooling over. So let's just get into it, shall we?

Helloooooo Louis V!

I just love the Speedy 30. I think it is chic, young...fun. However, this little guy is going to be an after Christmas present...to myself. :)

A Little of This..A Little of That

This past weekend, I went home for my good friend's birthday. We all went wine tasting on Saturday and out to a Casino for an amazing dinner and drinks that night. The next day, I did some shopping with Noelle (aka Beautygirl24) and snagged some great finds...as well as one splurge that I have been lusting over for months! I also posted an outfit I wore to work the other day....It is really late at night and I have insomnia...so...Please excuse the randomness to this blog :)
I just love these pearls
Even though it doesn't rain too often where I live, this umbrella was too cute to pass up...
 (Forever 21)
I used to have a pair of similar shoes, so I was so excited when I found this pair!
(Forever 21)
I have so many lace items in my wardrobe, but I couldn't resist! It will be perfect to wear out in LA next week!
(Forever 21)
In Rachel Zoe's words.."I Die"..Noelle ordered one and I just had to.
(I ordered mine from Australia, but Noelle ordered her's through shopruche.com~)

I finally bought this watch after dreaming of it for months... Michael Kors Oversized Acrylic Watch...An early Christmas gift to myself :)

And lastly...an outfit I wore to work last week...
Top: H&M, Skirt: Express, Opaque Tights: Target, Shoes: Jessica Simpson, Necklace: From a boutique in San Diego (Pardon the background..this was taken in the bathroom at my work)
Purse: Aldo...Someday, over the rainbow..it will be a Chanel ;) Right Noelle?!
It's all about the details :)

Happy Shopping Kids....

Vanity Fair...

"Mirror Mirror on the wall...Who's the fairest of them all?" All of us gals love having our own, special area to get ready in. Our little sanctuary to escape to...to play with makeup, hair and jewelry. Living the college life for the past years of my life, I was unable to have my own room dedicated to getting ready, let alone my own room.

Now, I live in a little, two bedroom beach house with my boyfriend. One room has the bed, dresser, etc...and the other room is what I refer to as my "Vanity Room". It is probably my favorite place to spend my time.

I have had the mirror since I was 5 yrs old and I bought the Vanity at a yard sale...The drawers were this awful pink color, so I painted it :)
I keep my makeup, hair products, nail polish and lotions in the drawers...
I keep lipglosses and bobbypins, bows, etc...in the black jewelry box
I keep bracelets in the round jar and clip my bows and hair clips around the rim...The framed picture is of Noelle (aka Beautygirl24) and I in Vegas.

This is actually a cabinet meant for a bathroom, but I use it for my jewelry...the picture in the back is Noelle and I in San Clemente.

I keep some of my favorite rings on the shelf below...Butterfly ring (Bebe), Pink ring (Nordstroms), "My dream engagement ring" (Banana Republic), Black with rhinestones (Forever 21), Open Heart ring (Tiffany's) and Black and Gold ring (Arden B), Clutch (Banana Republic)

I just love her...

And her...
My Dad..My Hero. This always makes me smile when I see it. :)

What is your favorite room to spend your "alone" time in?

Hello Hollywoodland!

For the past few Thanksgiving weekends, James (the boyfriend) and I have gone on mini vacations being that we always get the Friday after Thanksgiving off work. Last year we went to Vegas and had a blast..This year we decided to go to Hollywood! I am so excited! We are staying at the Hotel Palomar, a boutique hotel located near Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Santa Monica. We stayed there in May for a friend's wedding and we were really impressed! In the lobby, they had a different flavored water everyday. My favorite was the freshly cut strawberries and mint. It is adorable and affordable AND allows doggies, so we are bringing the pup along too.

I fell in Love with the room decor, which inspired the decor for my "Vanity Room"
(Pictures of my "vanity room" in an upcoming blog)
The Lobby of the Hotel. So Chic...
Oreo will enjoy the vacation too!

I can't wait to shop til I drop and get all glamed up and go to some of the local bars and clubs. Maybe if I am lucky, I will see a celeb while we are there! Most of all, I am looking forward to escaping reality for a weekend and coming back with shopping bags full of goodies.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! What are your plans?  Any suggestions on where to go while in Hollywood/LA?
